Skydiving Adventure

So, a few of us in the web marketing department at NextStudent decided to go Skydiving (see previous post).We went this past Saturday at Skydive Marana and had a BLAST. It took 11 of us (friends included) about 4 hours to go. Over half of us got videos (including me). Jon put his up already; take a look to get a feeling for the full experience.

Did you see that plane? I almost didn’t go after seeing it – but dude, there’s a reason why it’s an adventure. I can’t explain the rush you get from jumping out of a plane. I never equated skydiving with jumping out of a plane, but there you go. Not sure if I’ll ever go again, but it was definitely worth it.

If you didn’t figure it out, everyone is fine…although Jeff did crash hard. See the video.

Skydiving…TOMORROW!

Guess what? I’m going skydiving tomorrow. I’m excited (and very nervous). It should be a lot of fun – otherwise, it really wasn’t worth the money. I’m going with a bunch of co-workers (in case you didn’t know, I work in the marketing department at NextStudent, a student financing company. There are about 11 in the group, 5 from NextStudent).

And for all of you who are afraid I might die – read this article! I also watched this video, but couldn’t finish since it freaked me out too much.

Happy Valentines Day from everyone at Meandering Minds!

We will be adding a new author on here shortly to discuss business and job tips. She’s been working for over 20 years and is a chief officer at a very large company.

As a chief officer, she has found many issues that people could use help with – whether it is their resume or interview or how they conduct themselves in an office environment.

Welcome to Meandering Minds. Let us introduce you to a few of our personalities. Introductions will continue as more personalities are added

Bookworm: Bookworm loves books. Hates it when anyone says they hate to read. Believes it is difficult to find the right book, but once a person has, they will no longer hate to read. Books are like TV for Bookworm, except she gets to use her own imagination rather than depend on someone else’s. She has found that using her imagination, more often than not, is better than relying on someone else’s (and is the reason why most books are better than the movie).

She has been able to ask a few questions and get a person who “hates to read” to love to read after recommending the right book (usually after the first time). The most important thing to know is if the person likes non-fiction, fiction, or “fluff” books.

Bookworm wants to find a place to discuss more books (but not a book club), find new good books and authors, and provide a resource for non-readers to find a book they’ll enjoy.

Finance Guy: Finance Guy loves money – and anything having to do with getting more money. He has a hard time spending it, even if it’s for necessities (new clothes, food). The only time it’s easy for Finance Guy to spend money is if it’s buying the guys a round at the end of the week – then he has no problem whatsoever.

Finance Guy is known for putting his friends on budgets and helping them get to where they would like to be (financially at least). His friends hate him for a while, being on a budget and all, but in the end – it always works out.

Stay tuned for financial information – it will usually come as advice to one of his friends/family members.

I did it! I did it! I did it! I did it!

As you can see, I’m extremely happy I finally was able to put WordPress up. I’ve found that I must be very bad at following directions as it should have only taken me 5 minutes to install the stupid program.

Now onto learning more about CSS, HTML, and all the other things necessary for me to change the look and feel of this (as well as the web site that will be going up eventually).
